What personal information do I collect from my readers?
When sending a message, posting a comment or signing up for the newsletter, you may be asked to enter your name, email address or other details. This obviously is only used for the specific purpose.
When do I collect information?
The website collects information from you when you subscribe to a newsletter, fill out a contact form or write a comment on my site.
Comments
When you leave comments on the site I collect the data shown in the comments form and browser user agent string to help spam detection. Your name, comment, and website (if entered) will be shown publicly. Your email address, on the other hand, won’t show up publicly. You can always contact me to delete a comment and your data.
IP addresses are not collected and I am not using any Gravatar to preserve your privacy.
Contact forms
When you submit a message via a contact form, your data will only be stored until your request has been answered.
Newsletter
In order to subscribe to my newsletter, you are required to enter your email address and name, as well as preferences. When you subscribe, you are agreeing to this. You can unsubscribe at any time, either through a newsletter email, or contact me and I’ll take you off immediately.
Cookies
If you leave a comment on my site you may opt-in to save your name, email address and website in the cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
As I am using Google Analytics to analyze the performance of the website, it will save 3 cookies. I have anonymized your IP address & demographic information, but with these cookies, I can detect languages, reader flows, most popular post, etc. Cookies are saved between 1min and 24 hours.
To make the website faster, I am using Cloudflare. The cookie is saved for 5 years.
To provide different languages on my blog, I am using WPML, which uses cookies to identify the visitor’s current language, the last visited language and the language of users who have logged in.
Embedded content from other websites
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content (i.e. YouTube), including tracing your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
